The site is a riverbank hemmed by land on one side and mountains on the other, posing real challenges: extreme cold and the seasonal flooding of the river. The dwelling answers by burrowing into the cliff and lifting its living pods on a cantilevered deck.
Stone masonry grounds the structure while a curved glass facade opens the interior to the valley. A three-foot bridge threads out to a circular platform, a place to sit above the water and feel the landscape directly.
